A Glimpse of Unity

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”

This is what we get to look forward to. A day when the Father of nations gathers his kids home once and for all! No more walls of separation, the things that kept us apart on earth instead become the thread to weave a tapestry of a worship sound worthy of the one who gave us the ability to craft beautiful music out of mere sounds!

On May 1st, we had the privilege of joining multiple churches to pray for our city! As part of the prayer time we worshiped together. The worship team was comprised of 5 different churches, different expressions of the body of Christ. We sang in English and Spanish and it was a wonderful time in God’s presence! We as a family live for moments like this, God has placed a passion to see worship happen on earth as it is in heaven. Maybe it’s because our family reflects the reality of different nations coming together to create something new! That may be part of it, but this love of nations that He placed in our hearts is ultimately God’s heart! Jesus taught his disciples to pray, “Your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

In John 17: 20 Jesus prayed for unity for his body!

Even the world in moments of sanity longs for this and tries to manufacture unity in diversity! It is our conviction that only in Christ can there be true and lasting unity because his blood is the binding agent of our distinctiveness! He is also the creator and knows exactly how we fit together.
